I thought I would do something different, a friend of mine sends out bible verses on a daily basis. As I was sitting contemplating the verse, it hit me to share this with you. I will be sending out on a blog various bible verses from time to time. Read them, and pray on them. Please feel free to use the comment section for your perspective on the verse, or simply use the like button to say you liked it.
Today’s verse is 1Peter 3:15: 15″ but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.”
Peter’s first point is that is that we have been given protection from God, verse 13 is a redefinition of being hurt. Yes, we can be harmed physically, but our souls are protected. Even if there is an earthly cost to our serving and suffering, the cost cannot take away from our salvation.
We are to honor in our hearts Christ, but we can not defend our hope in Him, but we must do it with gentleness and respect.
This is just my opinion, and I am sorry if you do not agree, we as a society get offended by other people to easily. We need to learn to respect others opinions, and if we do not agree, disagree but do it with respect.
