It has been a while since I last wrote

Well, for some reason I decided to look for this blog. I am not sure exactly why I decided today of all days to do this. Since the last time that I wrote a great deal has happened to myself, and my immediate family. I am not going to go into details about what happened to myself and my immediate family, other then to say that Stacey and I have separated back in November of 2020. I am not complaining about it, nor do I want a pity party. Things happen for a reason, and know that it is ok, and I am ok.

It has been almost 6 years since I moved down to Chincoteague, and I am still loving every minute of it. I have met some wonderful people here. There are way too many people to mention in this post. For personal reasons, I am not working at Chincoteague Church of God, but I am still attending there every Sunday. There is more on that below, so keep reading to find out.

Before I get to the real point of writing this update, I need to mention that my father passed away almost 5 years ago. Not a day goes by that I do not find myself thinking about him. For example last night, I was making a cheese omelet and thought to myself, dad was great at making these. I wish that he taught me how to do it really good. I try my best, but still it is not HIS!

I do have to thank Pastor Kevin Stanley, who is not just my pastor down here, but also a good friend. At the time that he removed me from my position at the church (yes, I am being totally honest), I did not realize that in the background of all that was going on, God was at work, fulfilling his purpose, plan and will for me. God had to totally tear me down, to build me back up again. He is doing that, even though I take 2 steps forward to take one step backwards. You may or may not have seen 3 keys words in the previous statement, PK uses this phrase all the time, and I totally believe that each one of us has a purpose, plan and will for us. Our “job” is to listen to it, and to follow it. So here is the first question for you to think about. What is God’s purpose, plan, and will for you? You do not have to answer that question here, just a thought to ponder.

There are people on my friends list that wanted a bible lesson. I am trying to figure out what I want to do it on, without this post going too long. Lets take a look at Genesis 2:8-9 in which God through Moses introduces two trees in the Garden of Eden. The first tree is the Tree of Life, and the second tree is the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil. These two verses, Moses just gives a brief introduction of the trees. Here is the actual verse that I am talking about. I am using NIV for this post. You will find that I go between the NIV and the ESV. “8Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. 9The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil” In this God is giving us a real basic introduction of the trees, They (the trees) are sources of life, so the question begs to be asked What sources are you tapping into? Are you tapping into the Tree of Life or the Tree of Good and Evil? I believe at times we are tapping into both. Both trees have roots that reach out to water to survive. Without the water the trees will die. So, we have to tap into food and water for us to survive. The bible is the living word of God, and we should be constantly tapping into this source to survive.

I plan on doing more of these types of blogs, as it helps me to really dig into the word, and I pray that it helps you dig into the word. If you want to comment on this, do so below. If not think on it, and do something about it.
